Chuong was Fantastic!
We booked our trip after our first choice was full and I'm glad it was as we would have missed out on the highlight of our trip, Chuong came to our hotel to meet us and took us to our Luxury van (7 seater, fully reclining leather seats with AC and plenty of water) One of the many great aspects was that we weren't forced to stop at a tourist spot to spend money and the trip there only took 2.45 hours as they take the motor way. Chuong was very knowledgable about the areas we passed through, Vietnamese customs and happy to answer any and all questions. When we arrived at the boat we discovered we had the entire boat to ourselves and only one other couple. The food was delicious and plentiful, squid, prawns, spring rolls, chicken the list goes on and all was cooked fresh. We visited a floating village, kayaked around it and through some caves for about 50 minutes then headed to the cave tour back on the boat. The caves were beautiful and we were blown away. Back on the boat to the van and home, an easy ride and were we're back for 7 covering more in one day than the other tours. I'd recommend this to friends and family and would tell you all to specifically ask for Chuong. 10/10.

Halong Luxury Day Trip!
After doing a lot of researching about different day tour options from Hanoi to Halong Bay, we chose the Luxury day trip option and were very pleased with the level of service. On our tour we were picked up in a comfortable mini-bus with reclining leather seats and wifi and found out that we were the only guests for the day! Our guide Cheung was incredibly friendly and informative as we traveled to Halong and the route taking the toll-road cutting an hour from the trip was appreciated. The junk boat cruise including kayaking and cave tour was standard offering for Halong day tours, but we really appreciated Cheung's enthusiasm - especially compared to other guides and groups we saw. All around the trip was great and paying a little extra for an exclusive and faster trip to and from the bay was great value.

"Very Pleasant Day Trip to Halong Bay"
I booked the Luxury Day Tour to Halong Bay via Awesome Travel. They were very responsive in my email enquiries and ensured they were able to pick me up from a hotel quite far outside of the Old Quarter, so it was quite a hassle free arrangement. The van was very comfy and the 3-hour ride each way didn't feel too bad...although be prepared the road can be quite bumpy (but not the travel agent's fault)...but thanks to the comfy van made it a lot better.
We had a good tour guide who spoke very good English. He was able to give quite a lot of interesting info about Hanoi and Halong Bay. The amount of info was not too excessive and not too little, so just about right. The only comment I would have is that he wasn't able to accompany us into the Cave visit (due to an incident that a member of the tour was missing so he had to find the missing member) so he wasn't able to point out to us those interesting-shaped rocks! But no matter, we listened to other tour guide's explanation so it was alright.
The only thing I would comment was that the seafood lunch was quite basic, although there were fish, squid and prawn but the quantity per person was a bit too little. I was at a table with 4 guys and we had to share 1 small plate of rice, 1 small fish, a small plate of vegetables, squid and 1 small prawn per person. As this was a luxury tour and the cost was double the normal tour, I had expected the lunch to be at least enough to fill my stomach. Other than this, we were quite happy with the rest. I would recommend Awesome Travel to other visits!

Perfect day!
We upgraded ourselves to a luxury trip to Halong Bay and we enjoyed every minute.
We were picked up by Rocky and escorted to a executive coach ( seating for 8 ) leather seats, water, and free wifi and best of all air con. Rocky was very knowledgable of his country and a mind of information.
The trip from Hanoi is about 3 1/2 hours there. 2 1/2 back. When we reached Halong Bay Rocky sorted out our boat, which was amazing. 6 of us on one of them big boats was unreal. We cruised around the islands and had diner on board. 4 of our party were vegans but they were sorted no problem. I enjoyed crab, squid, king prawns. Mussels and as fresh as they come. My wife struggled a bit not liking fish, but the made her omelette and rice and salad and she enjoyed it.
We docked one one of the islands and again Rocky had the tickets for the trip around the caves, which again was awesome. Then we were rowed around on a Sham pans into caves. You could canoe if you wanted, and 2 did.
Then back to complete a full day on the bay.
We left the hotel in the old quarter at 8 and got back about 7.30. Tired but had a superb day.
I would highly recommend Awesome travel, and suggest it's worth paying that little bit extra

Awesome by name and awesome by nature
The tour lives up to its name that's for sure. Been on a lot of tours but this day trip to Halong bay is up there. Chuong our guide was a champion he met us at our hotel and catered to our needs the whole time. We ended up having the whole bus and boat to ourselves.
The extra cost is worth it for the service and quality of travel. The bus pick up from hotel is at 9am and heads straight to Halong bay. It actually saves at least 1 hour travel to the destination.
Bus is very comfortable and driver very safe
I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Best way to visit Halong bay from Hanoi!
We made day trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay with Awesome Travels. we actually made two other day trips with them, and the are really Awesome. Excellent communications throughout the process, brilliant young energetic educated tour guides, the Luxury car and timing...all EXCELLENT. enjoyed our 3 days trip in Hanoi.
Great Halong bay tour!
We visited Halong bay on Feb 17 2016. I cannot tell if that is out of the high season or right during it but we really felt like the name of the tour represents what it actually is that doesn't happen often. We were only 3 people (two of us + one more traveler) taking the tour so no squeezing in the car or crowding while taking the boat out to Halong bay. The van was really deluxe (white leather seats, very clean, comfy seats (adjustable for seating or sleeping), water, WI-FI etc.). We got a boat only for three of us! Lunch was just so yummy and plenty of food for three of us to share! And, sure, the guide take an excellent care of us. The response on our e-mails was prompt, pick-up on time. The driver was very kind to drop us off at the bar we picked for dinner not at the hotel as it was planned. This is definitely value for money if you want to enjoy comfort and escape being a part of big groups. We would definitely recommend the tour.
Lovely Day in Halong Bay!
Absolutely recommend these guys to take you out to Halong Bay. We just wanted a day trip on the bay and am so glad we booked with this company. Our guide - Rocky was very knowledgeable. The van was super comfortable and the small group size was perfect. Lunch was fresh and delicious and the cruise relaxing. Would book with them again!!
